You know just how the camel feels when its back gives out because a single straw added to its load ends up breaking its back. You’ve felt like this many times before. Different contexts. Different lives. The person you are now has come out of those moments. Those past instances when you told yourself you’d do this, or do that because …

We are really good at creating excuses for ourselves. We are incredibly good at lying to ourselves. We never want to believe that the situation we are in is really f**ked-up and we are the architects of the decisions that have put us there. Just how f**ked-up things are is a function of context.

You may be working in a job that has never appreciated you. You may be in a relationship that’s going nowhere. You may have been the punchline in a situation one too many times. You may have simply decided that doing things on autopilot and living life at a distance are simply not enough. I cannot here be inclusive enough in my descriptions or broad enough in my definitions. The feeling I’ve described however is something you know because it’s real.
