Thank you for responding Thomas P Seager, PhD. Neurobiologically the only hardwiring we have is that that’s imposed upon us by our environment which, in some way contributes to our long-term survival by minimizing the effort it takes us to do something. The sentence you highlighted refers to the one before it where repetitive actions (and thoughts) lead to the reinforcement of specific neural pathways that make a task energy efficient. That is also what we commonly understand when we refer to “hardwiring” in the brain.

Interesting you brought up language as it plays an important role on perception which determines our individual reality which, in turn, guides our choices, decisions and actions. It is a good point to keep in mind.
